We brought that one in the weekend, pretty rare to see the Series 6 stuff (German made) almost as cheap as the Series 4.
Interesting to see how the energy consumption (apparently) varies between the 3 heat pump models linked too.

So what is a heat pump condenser dryer?
Some sort of hybrid franken-dryer?

All heat pump dryers are condenser dryers, not all condenser dryers are heat pump. Clear as mud?

Totally. Thank you. 😃

Was idly thinking of getting one of these -

any owners thoughts / alternative suggestions.
Might not get at all of course, most of the time it goes on the washing line, but if we get one the laundry has zero ventilation for vented models and condenser driers seem to be almost the same price as heat pump ones nowadays.

it looks like the bosh has a small heat pump. ~600w overall. possibly why they found it to be so slow. tho its hard to find specs of others to do apples to apples comparison.
My sister got a dirt cheap Trade Depot heat pump dryer a few months ago. AFAIK, everything remains operating excellently.
In that case at least, you have the option of either piping it to a sink/drain, or a pull-out drawer like a dehumidifier. I think most others are similar.
Bear in mind that with a normal vented dryer, you not only have the energy consumption of running the dryer, but also heating the air being sucked into the building to replace what gets blown outside.
We purchased the Bosch 6/WQG24200AU around easter. Can confirm made in Poland and 600W. Works well for us but I don't have a comparison on load time with other brands. I was a bit wary of new models with self cleaning condensers as you can't easily inspect things and I'm still having ptsd from deep cleaning our heatpump.
Clothesline is best. 😈

Any thoughts on one of these -

not Bosch, and not a clothesline, which I do make extensive use of, but seems cheap and has a reverse, which people seem to appreciate, and Bosch LG, etc don't have, or not for that price anyway...

Interesting. Bigger load than the Electrolux plus higher star rating and still does reverse tumbling.
OTOH said bugger it and got the Electrolux yesterday. And it was cheaper (and I'm cheap).
