Well it has been 1½ years now since we went operational with Harrisons Solar Panels. They certainly are paying for themselves, not counting the previous few weeks đŸŒ§â˜”ī¸â˜šī¸.

Three months ago I performed their first wash. I used 30 Seconds Window Wonder Cleaner and a hose attached 2.8m extendable pole soft brush. I had mixed results;

 After trial and error and for safety reasons, I had to actually get up on the roof and my partner acting as safety man on the ground, (I was hoping to clean just from the ladder leaning against the guttering), but due to:

a - the 30 seconds cleaner hose attached dispenser did not spray all that far
b - the hose attached extendable pole brush became extremely heavy to use when in water on mode
c - not really all that happy with using even a soft brush on the panels
d - after trial and error (mucking around) time taken was approximately an 1½ hour

However today I used a different system;

a - using a step ladder 1 m out from the roof edge
b - Wet and Forget Window Witch exterior Glass Cleaner hose attached, reached the furtherest panel and only used ½ ltr of the 2 ltr bottle over the 12 panels
c - Wet and Forget Window Cleaning Pole & Microfibre Pad - Extendable (4.5m) reached the furtherest panel with no weight difficultly
d - rinsed off 3 times
e - time taken approximately ½ hour

It must be noted here that this cleaning was of an urgent nature as we noticed a couple of weeks ago that that horrible roof lichen spores had started growing on the panels due to all this bad weather we have been having. This cleaning system removed all the spores and growth very easily.

So that is our cleaning experience.

We are still very happy with our solar setup and its results.
