garbonzai: [snip]can affect just one small area, f

That's the nature of resonance. There will be narrow points where the amplitude increases and it can be felt, and between them areas with no discernble movement.

Set up a data logger as per @msukiwi and get a week or so of data. Establish what the pattern is/when it happens and it should then be possib;e to correlate that with a source active at those times.

Thanks,

I have sent a PM to nsukiwi for some help.

You haven't upset any neighbours have you? 🙃

From: https://www.nzherald.co.nz/business/humming-vibrator-in-57-level-pacifica-just-about-sent-25-residents-insane/ENGYVLNJDNAXPJBHMQB4E52LDE/

"An electric humming vibrator designed to upset neighbours operated for about a month inside New Zealand’s tallest apartment tower, sending 25 neighbours “just about insane” before it was discovered and disabled, a resident says."

"A resident explained a man had installed it in a window cavity, behind a blind, specifically to aggravate his upstairs neighbours for unknown reasons: “The device causes a low vibrating-type hum at about 35-40 cycles per minute at about 80hz. It sounded like a cellphone ringing on vibrate stuck in the wall, but it never stopped and just continued all day, all night.”"

The noise from the apartment has now stopped and the only sound is coming from a large freezer that must be kept running at all costs.

Ha ha,

wish it was that easy, it's coming from under the ground in a fast pulse type vibration that varies in intensity.

If it was daylight hours I'd be looking for a subdivision with piles being vibrated into the ground. If you think it is connected to sewerage pumping do you see anything on the surface of the water in the toilet bowl?

No, its not like that, I have put a glass of water in certain places when bad, and a phone vibration app nothing also, but you can definitely feel it going through your body, and when its mild you can feel your feet tingling sometimes, very hard to explain.

It's definitely coming from under the ground as I can hear a faint "WOO WOO WOO" sound when in the house like a ships engine or droning at distance, and when I try to figure out where its coming from, it seams to be from under the house, but it's so faint and distant, also can not hear it outside.

The reason I am so adamant its the Pump Station on Pages rd or the pipe infrastructure is every time it has been bad at my place, I go to the Pump Station and can feel the same vibration in front (you can walk out into the road and it's gone) of it but very mild compared to my place and I have been there when all is quiet and same at my place, it always match's, there is something fundamentally wrong with their system or equipment since it was changed to suction from gravity. But the CCC just play ignorance to my situation.

Also, if anyone can think of what else it could be, please let me know, it is a continuous pulse that varies in intensity, enough to be felt standing outside when bad (always bad 2-3am) to only when lying in bed trying to sleep.

I have borrowed a sensor to log it from msukiwi, so will wait and see what data that shows.

Thanks, rant over.

If you turn the power off at the board to your whole house, when its happening, does it go away? I'm just thinking you can have that sort of experience with an earth leakage, doesn't feel like a shock, feels like a small vibration.

Yes I have turned power off before I went to work, got home and still doing it, only has main switch inside panel, not in outside panel.
Had Orion out to check connection to house, they said all was ok on their side, but I felt he didn't believe me when I told him about place vibrating.

I also dug up the earth stake and disconnected it for a couple of days, no difference.

I had the house rewired about the time it started, electrician said they couldn't find a earth and might be around pipes, so they put in new earth stake, but neighbours said they felt it a year before it affected me, also my power consumption is not much.

There is a 11kv cable across road though, this has given me something to think about also.

Thanks

Earth connections usually should be labelled "Do not disconnect" (or don't mention it if you do!)

Some of your posts say neighbours not affected, you have to be consistent.

Yes I know, but I had to find out if it had any affect, it's put back as it was.
The neighbours on my driveway side use to feel it in a minimal way but don't seem to care about it, so I don't mention them.
