dzh:

Has anyone know lock that uses proximity - basically unlocks like a Tesla when your phone close gets nearby?

IMO everything else seems archaic.

The Ultraloq U-Bolt Pro Wifi units I bought (as detailed in the posts above) have this feature; it seemed to work fine when I had it enabled, but I had disabled it when sorting out WiFi issues (since resolved) so should try it again.

ashtonaut: We are buying a new front door and have the choice of either the E-Lok Series 8 or the Schlage Resolute.

Had a new door with the E-Lok Series 8 installed this week. It’s only recently in, so I can’t comment on durability, but setting that aside it’s excellent. Was about half the price of the Schlage and uses an identical ‘smart’ platform.

For others’ future reference, pair the lock with the TT-Lock app (not the E-Lok app, which is simply rebranded), and don’t buy the wifi bridge from E-Lok, get the same thing (or better, I got an Ethernet version) from Aliexpress - it functions identically.

I have the lock and wifi bridge now set up and working in HA using the hass-ttlock integration, and from there also working with HomeKit.
