(if you want different colored flowers when it's flowering - you could take the Ghetto approach and simply put some drops of food colouring in the water you throw at it - I think it would be thirsty enough to suck the colouring up into the flowers. πŸ‘€πŸ˜)

Thank you for the suggestions. If they aren't going to provide air cleansing or other health benefits, I am unsure if I can be bothered. I quite like plants, but perhaps not enough to look after them :)

Weird that a site called healthline.com could get away with making claims like that.

Don't Dyson have something you can plug in to do that?

It doesn't appear to be anything to do with the NZ organisation. This video may help regarding the health benefits including having calming effects on people by being closer to nature.

I am shocked, shocked to discover that a payola web site would publish bogus health information.

Take a look at this large selection of artificial plants, which are also suitable for anyone with allergies and look deceptively real... πŸ˜‰

And since I have three of them, they even survive in the low-light cellar now.

Plastic plants fade and obviously not good for the environment as they  eventually end up as waste.

Agree, but not if made of good quality and UV resistant plastics - hence I have it in the cellar. πŸ˜‰

Zamioculcas

I've had some of the other suggestions in this thread and managed to kill them, or they start looking scruffy after a couple of years.

Was given 2 zamioculcas as house warming gifts about 3 years ago and despite my best efforts they are still alive and looking good.
