SATTV:
I had to connect an antenna to watch some live sports a few months ago, it was that or watch it delayed streaming.
The delay.... (Anywhere of 2-3 minutes) watch sport via Skysport Now or Sky Go is nothing short of unacceptable.

quickymart:Sort of but not really (this is to the Sky Tower). I guess I'll just have to see.
I do have a pair of the old rabbits ears somewhere but they were last used for VHF reception, so my guess is they would be no good for UHF, even just to see what the signal is like.

For sure, not sure why its so bad when a twitch streamer can push better quality video to a larger audience with much lower latency than what the big boy broadcaster gear seems to be able to do.
nztim:The delay was one hour.

Sky tower is very low power infill. I would test with the rabbit ears you have.
Actually I think my signal is from Waiatarua. I checked using Google Maps and it's about 18kms in a direct line - however this was interesting:
https://support.freeviewnz.tv/support/faq-library/what-is-a-uhf-aerial/
According to the map my coverage would be "very likely", so maybe I'll be in luck?
Thanks for all the tips so far, will see if I can find my rabbits ears aerial at the weekend and test it.
At 18 km I would guess you will be out of luck especially if you can't see it - very likely means with outdoor antenna. I'm 16 km from Sugarloaf and just get pixelation with indoors.
Spark Max Fibre using Mikrotik CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+, CRS125-24G-1S, Unifi UAP, U6-Pro, UAP-AC-M-Pro, Apple TV 4K (2022), Apple TV 4K (2017), iPad Air 1st gen, iPad Air 4th gen, iPhone 13, SkyNZ3151 (the white box). If it doesn't move then it's data cabled.

16ish km in beach haven and bunnyears work fine upstairs with line of site, erratic in the shed without it.
That's in the vicinity of me too. I wonder if I'll be as lucky as you.
In the event I can't find my own aerial (possible) I might have to pick up something cheap and cheerful, like this: https://www.thewarehouse.co.nz/p/indoor-freeview-aerial-antenna-tv-antenna/M7587948.html
If it doesn't work I guess it's only $20 spent to find out.
Never mind, found both my old sets of rabbits ears (I had two - I think one was for FM reception on my old, now deceased stereo). Will test them out and see if they work and if the signal is any good.
Update, tested with both sets (one a fairly high-end Pudney pair I got some time ago) and one of those All-in-one pairs. Neither pick up any channels whatsoever, so I guess I'm screwed 😕
