Just an aside, off topic, to all of this. IMO, Australasia needs the housing prefab industry that Europe has. You yourself design your home online, a factory builds it in modules and a TRAINED team install/erect it after the slab and base plumbing has been laid. Plus, we need more solar. Australia are now manufacturing integrated solar roof tiles and solar cells integrated directly into metal sheets that are used as the primary roofing material. These are all no-brainers as far as I am concerned.

Anyway, just my thoughts.

yes, many have tried and many have gone bust. not enough volume to make it work well.

also Europe has a completely different housing culture. much more about long lasting and better quality. nz is the complete opposite. lets face it, the industry does it to please its customers. the problems lay with the customer.

the EWRB is nothing to do with LBP's. The EWRB is for electricians, not builders.

Sorry I misread the post I was replying to. More tightly controlled like plumbing and electrical would be fine except there are horror stories involving those trades as well.

Sitting in the refresher training courses over the years, the list of electrical providers I would avoid recomending is quite long.......
