Looks like there is a new version called "Ring Video Doorbell Pro".

Wonder how long it will be before the normal RING is obsolete?

Probably awhile, the Pro requires an external power source so it won't work for a lot of people. However, this may remove the problem with the original Ring with the sleep-mode-induced delay before your phone gets the ring indication.

There's another new version of Ring Doorbell releasing early next year!

Ring Elite. It's powered by PoE.

I would love to get this new Elite version to our new house we are currently building, but it's not going to work with our Entry as we have a Aluminum frame and dual Stone columns on each side of our Entry. :(

PoE is very cool for a device like this - but I think the flush-mount design would unfortunately make it difficult to install in a lot of situations.

Hi Guys, I found a $50 off promo code from google. Just use keyword"ring.com promo code" on Google.  I already order one ring doorbell with free solar security sign. The total cost is $304 inc Domestic shipping.   I guess Ring.com has distribution center in NZ.

I bought one of these a week or so ago as a bit of a Christmas extravagance, and unfortunately can't say that I would whole-heartedly recommend it. It has worked ok, but the motion detection seems quite hit and miss, picking up buses but not people. Doorbell push notifications are also occasionally not showing up on my phone, but I'm at a loss on what the issue is there.
