After vowing to never get another Dyson given their flimsy plastic construction and being overpriced, I decided to give the V15 a go..

Within 5 minutes of using it, it asked me to wash the filter.. 24 hours later after washing and drying it, another 5 minutes use it's asking me to clean the filter again.

Either the vacuum is faulty, or filter, so now I have to deal with Dyson support.

Should have trusted my gut and avoided.

We recently purchased a Tineco Pure One X from Godfreys after testing one in the store for a good 10-20 minutes.
In my opinion it is excellent, no longer do we have to drag out the Electrolux, plug it in, have it bump into door frames etc.
We have a dog who sheds hair like crazy, and a Cockatiel who throws his seed out of the cage often and the Pure One X makes short
work of vacuuming up the hair and seed, so much so, that the Electrolux hasn't been used since we got it. It comes with various attachments
and adjusts the suction automatically depending on what the floor is like. Two of the accessories are a hook like thing with a blade in it, so you can cut hair on the roller
(the roller can also be removed from the head)
and the other is a thing where you put the filter in, turn the vac to full, and rotate the filter by hand in the attachment so it cleans it.
I had my doubts at first about a battery operated stick vac, but this one has me very impressed.

Buy Tineco PURE ONE X Cordless Stick Vacuum Cleaner | Godfre (godfreys.co.nz)

We upgraded from a V6 to a V11 Outsize (I think they've rebranded and just call it the Dyson Outsize now) when we moved into a much larger house.

Partner thinks it's too bulky and heavy, but in the store it didn't feel than much heavier than the standard V11 so I don't know if she would have been any happier with that. Both were noticeably heavier than our old V6.

You would not ideally be lifting the outsize model off the floor though to feel the bulk and weight as the floor attachments would always glide around on the floor anyway?

Do whatever you want to do man.

For much of the time you're correct, but you don't generally vacuum to and from the cupboard where it's stored. And (apparently) it's harder to maneuver, but I haven't really experienced that myself.

I wanted a Roomba but was overruled.

Bought a V11 outsize a month ago.

Talk about life changer. So much easier to whip out then the hover cat & dog vac.

We swapped it out due to having a long hair dog now and its does the job really well.

Went for that version due to longer batter and its removable and the larger crap tank.

The new V15 is half kg lighter but the Outsize bin is much larger. The V15 has more suction power than the Outsize though.

Not that anyone cares, but Dyson are sending out a new filter to see if that fixes the issue

If not, then will further troubleshoot from there 👍

If that doesn't do it go back to retailer for a full replacement as it should be considered DOA.

Yeah I know, problem is the retailer is Heathcotes and I'm in Wellington so I'm trying to avoid that as it'll involve shipping things back and forth

The more likely answer would be that the air flow sensing in the vacuum is faulty.

As expected the filter did nothing

Phoned Dyson who wanted me to send it back for repair, I was like well it’s technically DOA so I don’t want it repaired.

They then told me to contact the retailer, retailer said they normally tell people to deal directly with Dyson so they’ll call Dyson and get back to me later today…

The problem with sending it back for repair is I end up with no vacuum cleaner for the duration of the process

The vacuum cleaner is not working at the moment, so you lose nothing.
