Gurezaemon:
My DIY-ish coffee bean roaster, with a cheap basket from Ali, and the metal surround/stand for the whole thing off an old microwave. Video of it in operation.
Good effort.
Just exploring the roasting world myself. I have been using a Behmor roaster. I find the result to be very much related to very minor adjustments to the process, like cook time is critical down to the seconds, lalso temperatures are critical.
Also bean choice, its a minefield but when you hit it right is like striking gold.

I've found that myself as well. You need to keep a really close eye on things as soon as you hear the first crack of the beans, and remember that they'll continue to cook for a bit even after turning off the heat.
I've been randomly choosing from various beans available online, with quite different results.

ermat: Do you have a favourite bean ?
I haven't really been doing this long enough to get a constant enough roast to make a decent judgment as to a favourite, but so much of it is down to taste anyway. I bought a robusta Indian roast from Green Bean House that my wife reckons is very bitter, but I find it very earthy and pleasant. I'll be roasting some from PNG shortly, and I'm quite keen to see how they turn out.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to other places I could source beans?

I have made a few purchases from Burtons. I suspect they are NZ biggest importer. You need to establish an account with them to buy and can buy as little as 1kg lots. Like you I have yet to determine a favourite bean due to my yet to be perfected roasting skills. If anyone out there has a favourite bean please speak up.

I was thinking more along the lines of Mr Bean (Rowan Atkinson) ;-)
Cambridge Dictionary: renovate (verb): to repair and improve something, especially a building.
Mirriam-Webster: renovate (transitive verb): to restore to a former better state (as by cleaning, repairing, or rebuilding).
However a lot of "renovations" don't "repair and improve" or "restore to a better state" but more like transform to a worse state (example: the Casa de Cowboy).
So what's the term for this anti-renovation? That is, something that should be renovation but that actually makes it worse? I was thinking "cowboying" but you can have cowboy builders building a new home whereas anti-renovation is a bit different.
Denovation.

Here's my latest DIY: The "Teen Shower Shortener"

Yeah, I think you know where I'm going with this: it was a project to IP56-ify an Athom smart plug with Tasmota on the gas hot water. Used a bit of silicone to seal the button and underside, plus a rain cover over the top. Got it connected to Home Assistant with rules to switch off after drawing >10W for >8mins, then switch back on after 3mins.
Works a treat (for now, until daughter realises that turning the shower to cold momentarily mid-shower resets the timer... 🤞). Also includes a special override on the HA dashboard for when the wife has had a hard day and needs a long relaxing shower 😁

Specialisation is for insects.
Nice!
When you share the recipe don't forget to include the torque settings.
