I started with the retailer, retailer said process is to call Dyson for support

I called Dyson, they sent replacement filter

Replacement filter did nothing, called Dyson and they want me to send it for repair to which I said no thanks

Called retailer, retailer called Dyson

Retailer called back and agreed to send the whole thing back to retailer who will send me a new replacement

So we got there in the end..

Sometimes it can be easier dealing with the manufacturer, but retailers only tell you to do that so they don't have to deal with it themselves. But it's 100% the retailers responsibility to sort this out, and they damn well know it. In this case the bottom line is you paid for a brand new product, not a repaired product - so good on you for not accepting the repair option.

Within 5 minutes of using it, it asked me to wash the filter.. 24 hours later after washing and drying it, another 5 minutes use it's asking me to clean the filter again.

Either the vacuum is faulty, or filter, so now I have to deal with Dyson support.

This morning I was told our V11 needed a filter clean so I did that but it didn't actually look that bad. Looking at the vacuum I found a bird's nest of stuff caught in the inlet at the top of the canister. It had gone up the pipe but didn't get round the bend. Have you checked for something like that?

Yep, checked that, but it had barely done any work in the 5 minutes I used it before it complained about needing to be cleaned

I came across reddit posts where people are having the same issue with the V15, in any case mine has been returned now I'm just waiting for the replacement

I should probably post an update, after sending the whole thing back to the retailer they were able to replicate it on the third attempt.. my guess is they don't have medium pile carpet and their shop floor will be vacuumed daily anyway..

So I was finally issued with a replacement a few weeks ago, and the replacement has been doing good. It's done about 10+ whole house vacuums and no prompt to clean the filter yet.

Have to say the anti tangle tech on the high torque power head is a god send, with two birmans and two females (wife/daughter) shedding hair I was constantly having to dissassemble the miele brush head to cut and remove all the tangled cat/human hair in it. With the dyson head I've only pulled out 1 strand of my wifes hair, and that was just to prove a point at how much better it was vs the miele.
