This thread has been great to read, as we would like to change over to battery powered tools soon.

I'd like some advice on how to maintain battery health, especially when we may not be using the battery every weekend?
When finished using it, leave it as it is, and charge to full just before we use it again? Or another method?

Others will know more about this but my understanding is that modern lithium batteries prefer to be stored with a partial charge. Personally, I don't worry about it and just put them away with whatever charge they happen to have. As someone who only uses my tools occasionally, and then usually not for long, battery life doesn't worry me much. I have more than one battery and if it dies on a job, I just pop it in the charger and continue with the other one. If my abuse reduces battery life, I just change them more frequently. No problem!

I try not to put too much thought into it - if a battery is indicating below half when I'm finished, I'll put it on charge. Otherwise it just goes back on the shelf.

I only charge when I'm in the shed, or close by though. I won't leave a charging battery unattended - been to too many house fires for that.

Drills etc I charge when down to one LED lit of three.

Leaf blower battery recharged after every use, unless only used for a few minutes.
