Finished the backyard fence (finished the gate the next day just didnt take a photo), just need a bit more dirt for the gardens then its the wifes turn to plant stuff.
Thats nearly everything off my to do list now

ermat: Tall Fesque ?
yep
im waiting on my cylinder mower to turn up as my current rotarty one doesnt do a great job of cutting it.
ermat: Looks good. How long has it been in.
I put in 400sm 2 weeks ago.
Did you find it fills in more over time or did you get good cover from the start ?
Its been in since about Matariki weekend (Jun 24, 2022). I used woolgro mat and it filled in pretty well from the get go, highly recommend that product.
Here is the post i made about it.
Im going to de-thatch the lawn as the current rotary mower isnt great with picking up all the clippings and there is a reasonable amount of thatch in there. Im also going to top dress and add some sand to level it out a little as there are a few small bumps in it now. Getting a little obsessed with it now.
The issue with tall fescue generally doesnt have rhizomes which helps it spread out, though there are some varieties that do, im going to hunt some down and overseed this coming summer to help with future lawn repair.
The weather is poor so I can't take it out. So I only have the 5m in the garage but the eVespa is alive!
I finished building the battery this morning. That was a feat, Lithium battery cells are not to be taken lightly. I took all the precautions and thankfully had no issues but I still took a deep breath when I first plugged the battery into the charger. Thankfully it behaved perfectly and charged fine without a lot of heat which I was happy with. It is a nominal 64v 24Ah battery (18s8p) but at full charge it holds almost 76v (4.2v per cell)
The came the time to plug it into the motor controller and again a few moments of pause were taken before clicking that remote ignition button. The lights came on, flicked the e-throttle safety switch, twist the throttle and away we go!
There's still quite a bit of work to do to get everything buttoned up but I'm so pleased that everything is working as it should after all this time. Crossing fingers for better weather to come so I can take it out next weekend.
panther2: Anyone recommend a good paint for a wooden verandah deck? I've been thinking of an epoxy paint as I want it sealed and hard wearing,
Current project about half way done laying the tongue and groove.
I haven't used it on a deck but for water proofing plywood for the boat, I use slightly thinned epoxy to seal the timber then a tough one-part epoxy enamel paint.
None of the things I've coated this way are walked on, but the boat lives outdoors and gets pressure washed and obviously goes out into the marine environment. It's performed very well as a water proofing.
I can't remember the exact paint I use. It's at Bunnings/M10 in the same general area as the kill rust etc but isn't specifically a metal paint.

What can I say, this thing is an absolute blast to ride. Clocked up around 30km this afternoon just tootling around town. I had a grin from ear to ear.
In this video I was only doing 30km/h as that's the speed limit in our street. It comfortably cruises at 60km/h and I briefly hit 80km/hr and while it still felt solid and planted, its not a speed that I'd be comfortable keeping for long!

Not only did you match the Vespa colour with the "lid" (helmet for non bikers), you matched it with the tarp you rode past!

The lid is a Nolan N21 TriColore. Couldn't think of a more fitting helmet than and Italian made, Italian flag design.
Senecio: Sun finally came out, couldn’t resist a little trip down to the beach. Even if it was low tide and it was just mud!
I am very impressed with your skill and the quality of your workmanship. Apology if this has already been answered, but what is the range?
