Hey all,

We are having some work done in our rental house. Initially we are focused on renovating the laundry and then we'll move on to the master bedroom and lounge when our tenants move out.

The laundry is basically done apart from the flooring. I'm having a nightmare dealing with the flooring companies. I've had carpet court and Ian Hunt floorings, both in Albany, come in and do a measure (last Wednesday morning, 8 days ago). Carpet court came back with a quote for $734 installed (3000x1800 room) but the vinyl I chose was out of stock until May. I think the price is a tad steep considering the vinyl was only $129/3m.The consultant said she would find some new styles (on Monday) but has yet to get back to me.

Ian Hunt still have not returned a quote back to me. I went in Monday afternoon to find out about the quote but the consultant told me they didn't have it. She then cut me off mid sentence by holding her hand up in the air and then answered the phone. I stood there completely shocked while she totally ignored me for a minute and continued her convo on the phone. I then walked out and haven't heard anything since.

My question is - are there any decent flooring companies? Who would you recommend in North/North West Auckland? In about two months we'll need or bedrooms carpeted and more vinyl needed in other rooms so I'm kind of shocked how these companies treat their customers. We are meant to have this room competed this week but is being held up by these idiots.

Any advise would be kindly appreciated!

Josh

Carpet one do both Vinyl and carpet, I had them do some work on a rental and was happy with both service and price.

Which Ian Hunt? I dealt with North Shore and I found their service and support and pricing all beyond reproach. I agree what they did was rude, but I'd encourage you to let them continue to quote as they were 25% cheaper and the installers really know their stuff.

I can give you the name of someone specifically to deal with if you wish?

Yeah it was North Shore. If you could share your contact that would be greatly appreciated.

I called carpet one but unfortunately their next available rep is next Friday afternoon, then followed by a two week lead period.
