Just want to replace the filter on my HRV unit. I see that there are a few for sale on Trade Me. This guy wants $65 which I think is a good price?. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=854685537 .What should I look for as far as filtration goes. I asked how many micron's is and they replied 0.4 um. Is this good, bad or the normal. thx

Its $199 for the local distributor to come out and swap out the filter - they supply the part and travel/labour at that price.
So the trademe price seems to be spot on.

A local electrician around here is selling them for about $120ea

I got filtercorp ones through http://www.greensheep.co.nz.

A wee bit more than the ones you linked (@$80 delivered), but IMO they are much better than the original ones I took out.

Yea sweet as. Just waiting for it to turn up. Ordered a Y join off them at the same time. Going to run 1 to a outside vent and the other is going to go beside the chimney flue. Going to add a 2nd filter as well. (before the motor)

I've noticed that HRV filters require replacing even if you don't use them.
When we bought the house we are in, it had an HRV unit. The console stated that the filter needed replacing, so we did that.
The following year it stated that it needed replacing again, which we did.
However about 2 months later we installed a ducted heatpump solution, and never used the HRV again.... about 10 months later it popped up on the console that the filter needed replacing.... needless to say, we don't use it, so we didn't replace it.

This came with the new filter
switch off the control panel
press down button for 8 seconds (will beep after 3 but keep going for the full 8 seconds)
0.2 is displayed in the roof and -20 is displayed in the house
push on on/off button and a 1 or a 5 will be displayed
push on on/off button again&again to cycle though the numbers until you come back to the 1 or 5 being displayed again.
push the function button to confirm.
BTW The new filter didn't have a lip on it to seal it in the unit, so I put some tape around it before I put the 2 half's back together again. As the box is not perfectly square and it would not of been a 100% seal otherwise.
