Yesterday morning our roof sprung a leak, it came in through a light fitting, I have stopped the leak at least 24 hours ago, do i need to replace the light fitting, or can i just let it dry out and keep using it as normal
Currently i have the lighting circuit off at the switch board and that's basically half the lights in the house not going,

Thanks

My vote is that unless it is something special it is likely to corrode over time, even if you get it going in the interim.  Just replace it.

One of those roof bayonet connector thingies, I will probably replace it eventually but I just want some light, candle light isn't that romantic when you keep stubbing your toes on things

If its just a bayonet batten fitting then replace it. They are dirt cheap so silly not to. I would only bother drying out if it was part of some matched set of fittings.

I just bought a few bayonet light batten fittings to replace some in my basement. Less than $8 each from Mitre 10

Too easy and cheap to replace to not do it.
