My football club needs a new clock/stopwatch. It only needs to count up in seconds from zero to 45 minutes (i.e. 4 digits should be enough if I went with something digital).

"Proper" scoreboards seem horrendously expensive, and we do just need a clock, so I've been looking around at homebrew and aliexpress options.

Does anyone have an idea about how big LCD/LED digits would need to be to be read from ~100 m away (the clock would go at one end of the ground, and should ideally be legible from the other end)?

Ta. There are definitely some 12 inch led options, so I will start with that.

45 minutes because the current clock goes to 45? I guess 90 minutes would be an option too, though you would need an extra digit if you were displaying it as 1[hr]:20[mins]:30[seconds]. 80[mins]:30[seconds] would be fine with 4 digits though.

I don't think grounds normally display injury time, as that's at the discretion of the referee. At least, I don't think I've seen that. [doubts self]
