We've got a Highlander 2.5L deep fryer, which was working fine until yesterday. I noticed that during frying the green light was off, which should be on (=operating). The red light (=heating) was off as well, but when I turned the temperature setting down, it turned on, although not as bright as usual. And it did not heat anymore.
After a day still the same issue, red light only working when on lowest setting.

It was only a $20 fryer, but it was fine. Is there anything I can check myself to fix this, or should I just bin it and buy a decent one?
