The WCC have released a version of the district plan which allows anyone to input their address and it will output a tailored district plan specific to that address.

This is quite a nice solution to wading through screeds of district plan documents/maps.

I could also see that this might be useful for those that are looking to purchase a property and are interested in the rules and regulations for it, to give them data on what they might be able to do to it.

The only problem is that the page says that they accept no responsibility for errors and omissions. So if the software has bugs and doesn't display correct info, it could be an expensive mistake. So people should always refer back to the normal district plan too and seek professional advice rather relying solely on it.

Is it only central Wellington? No Hutts or J-ville?

It is Wellington City Council so should include J-ville but not Hutt.

Edit: Just had a look and it does include J-ville. When the page first opens you can see the map showing the areas it covers.
