Hi All

Anyone know where to buy these from?

I cant seem to find them anywhere... Nor can I found LED equivalent that is close to 150w.

Its for a living area where light is required. Hate sitting in dimly lit rooms. (unless watching a movie).

All hints and tips suggestions welcome (except lower lumens)

You could also just get a socket doubler, and put in two 75 watt bulbs, or even better, two LEDs.

Philips makes an LED that is 2000 lm (150 - 200W in old bulbs )- its about $25, but is only 18W to run.

Mitre 10 and Bunnings stock them so you can try & return it if not to your liking.

I ended up buying one for home and while expensive it does the job.

(EDIT - see Robjg63 has suggested the same thing - I can confirm they are available in Bayonet and Screw fittings)

I picked up a 22w LED bayonet jobbie from Mitre10 a month or so ago. It lights up our kitchen like the sun (which is good for the Mrs when decorating cakes in the evening).

Not so impressed with a 14-ish-w LED bulb I put in the lounge which seems to be too directional for my liking - about a 120 degree spread - and its right in my eyes when in my favourite spot on the couch.

I've always found floor lamps to be the solution. One, very bright light makes me feel like I'm in some film noir movie waiting for the machine gun-carrying mobsters to arrive.

Three or 4 lamps with 75w to 120w equivalent LEDs (so 9w to 13w) do a great job.

Swap it for a e27 holder and get one of these ;)

This might help and its a couple of bucks, will use the existing B22 and let you put 2 big E27 lamps in.

I'll give Mitre-10 a visit and try the 18 or 22w and see what happens.

Otherwise might double up on the 14w jobs with the adaptor from amazon.

Worse case ill try the 140w.

Now what if i said, how about wifi controllable? phillips hue or similar style - still needing to be 140/150w like.

Philips 140w at Bunnings gives best light.

Just go in and ask them for their brightest bulb. It's equivalent to an old style 200w
