Hi, I just had a Mitsubishi heat pump installed
I'm in Auckland
I'm getting cold air coming out of the heat pump in heat mode.
any ideas before I call the installer???
Cheers

Always cold, or just sometimes? Actual cold (chilled), or just room temp? Does it work in cool mode?
Yes, don't expect them to pump out blistering hot air, that's not how they work. Turn the temp right up and put it on full. If it doesn't pump out warm air after maybe 5 minutes I would say you have a problem. Assuming of course you have read the controllers instructions...
Lazy is such an ugly word, I prefer to call it selective participation
if its when your first turn it on it may be in defrost mode and should start heating after 5-10 minutes
Our Mitsubishi heat pump 10 years old pumps cold air once it reaches temp. Always feel cold draught from the cool air it pumps out. When temp drops it then pumps hot air again. First thing in morning anytime below 5 deg it ices up after half hour then takes half hour to hour deicing so you sit in cold.

This ^^^^
Make sure it's in heat mode, not auto. I have two heat pumps, Daikin and Fujitsu, neither ever blow cold air in heat mode. Maybe it takes a few minutes to warm up, but if it's not that it could be faulty.
Yea, installer is coming back tomorrow to have a look,
I'll post what the solution is tomorrow.
Thanks for the replies though.
you havent really answered anyone questions
joker97: but my Fujitsu heatpump won't pump hot air unless fan is on auto
its either broken or a highly stupid heatpump, fan speed should have zero influence on weather its heating or cooling
I'll also have a wild guess with no idea.
You have a dead rat stuck in the pipe.
Hope this helps.

Not auto fan, auto mode. You should select the heat or cool modes manually, rather than auto, as auto can get confused, cycle, and waste power.
it says "fan is on auto" so hes saying his heat pump wont pump hot air when the fan is on auto.
it should and like others mentioned it will only stop pumping hot air when it reaches temp.
mine just ramps the fan right down and its still blowing warm air.
