I need to replace one which is identical to the one in the link. It's just for our living room lamp.

I'm finding it hard to find something along those lines in the shops.

Can anyone recommend something similar?

I saw something like that size at lighting plus some time back.

Why not buy the ebay one? Do you need it immediately? You could try The Lightbulb Man.

Because shipping will cost and arm and a leg (I think).

There's no calculation for NZ, but to have it sent within Europe, it approx 15 Euro.

Is it the base or the exact style that's difficult to find? E27 is an easy base to find, but that particular look may be tricky.

My father had some oddball light bulbs for which he couldn't get replacements for in NZ

I found LED equivalents to them on AliExpress, free shipping :)

(Yeah, I guess you want incandescent rather than LED, but probably you can find those too).

When buying LED lights off Aliexpress, just be aware of the usual problems with these, they often use underspecced components and/or little to no heat management so they'll fail a lot earlier than you'd expect, and if you're going to use multiple bulbs in one room make sure you get the entire lot in one batch (plus spares) since the colour temperature can be really inconsistent across different orders.

Honestly, for stuff like this you're better off buying locally, the few dollars you save by going directly to Aliexpress often aren't worth the hassle.

I went to Lighting Direct to find one of the suggestions, which was mentioned here in this thread.
Turns out that they had the exact one, which I was after originally...for 10 bucks! Result!

Mitre ten has some very similar ones as well, but lower wattage.
