Hey guys, I'm planning on doing up my houses networking myself so I bought this patch panel yesterday through the pb tech sale

https://www.pbtech.co.nz/product/ITPA-PAN25/Dynamix-24-Port-Cat6-UTP-Patch-Panel-19-T568A--T56

Unfortunately I didn't realize that it didn't come with the plastic frame which can be seen here on the right in this image

http://g01.a.alicdn.com/kf/HTB1EwJnIXXXXXc1XpXXq6xXFXXXa/NEW-12-PORTS-CAT6-NETWORK-font-b-PATCH-b-font-font-b-PANEL-b-font-WALL.jpg

I'm not entirely sure if I need one but if I was planning to mount the patch panel in a distribution box I'm guessing there wouldn't be enough clearance in the back for the cat6 cables to fit through, am I right in saying that?

Because I had already opened the box I doubt pbtech would take it back which is unfortunate on my side, it was only after opening it that I realized it wasn't included.

I've tried searching the Internet for the plastic part by itself and can't seem to find anything remotely similar. Is there anything else I can do? Or better yet does anyone have a spare plastic frame laying around I could buy for a few dollars?

I'm sure they will take it back if you explain the problem, or maybe they will come up with a solution.

What distribution box are you using?

This is what you would usually use:

I'm going to go in today to pbtech and see if they can give me a refund or like you said find a solution. Hopefully that goes well! I haven't heard great things about pbtech after service...

For the distribution box I was thinking of using this https://www.pbtech.co.nz/product/RACDNX1013/Dynamix-HWS-2804V2LP-28-FTTH-Low-Profile-Network-E
Unless I can find something else that suits my needs and is cheaper.

It seems like I could use those brackets with the distribution box! This could quite possibly be the answer I was looking for! :) I'll still go into to pb tech and see if they can source me one if that's the solution
