We have a white Dominator tilt door opener which has just started "clicking" when you press the remote or reset with power off/on. It is around 8 years old and apparantly the control circuit boards pack up on them and replacement boards are no longer available. Just wondering whether anyone has managed to repair these boards otherwise it looks like a new opener..

Consider talking to Philips Electronics in Penrose, Auckland, about a component-level repair. I think this would be up their alley if you were able to dissassemble the unit and send them the board only to save freight costs. There may be someone more local to you that will do component-level repairs.

Problem with that is testing - they can't unless they've got the same model unit.

If @Niscoupe PMs me, I can possibly help. Some Dominator franchises will repair these boards.

Companies have to keep spare parts under the CGA. How long should a door opener last,? mine is over 20 years old.
