I know nothing about security and cameras !

I work from home in a caravan at the back of the garden. I can't see the house from here and I have couriers visit every couple of days. It's been fine until now as they couriers all know I'm here, but each of the companies has changed personnel multiple times since Christmas and it might take a month of deliveries before I catch the new guys to tell them.

So I'm thinking of a cheap driveway alarm. I don't need it to have video (it would be nice if it's cheap enough) but I want it to be simple.

Anyone have any suggestions ? I can see dozens on Aliexpress but this will be in the open with little to no shelter from the weather and being white they are easy to see and nick off with !

Brought one of these in Dec 2015, specifically because it had 2 base stations. It gets set off by tree shadows waving in the wind, so took a while to get the direction right. Now that I think about it, it hasn't worked in a while so the batteries are probably dead. Might be interesting to see how the insides have survived.

Get one that you turn on and off as you need.

We had to spend several hundred dollars getting ours modified so that the nightly feline prowlers didnt set off the buzzer all through the night.

You can just convert the chime to mains powered and put it on a $10 Elto timer. I did it with my Robocan.

In the case of something security related though, you'd just realign the passive IR sensor so it wouldn't pick them up.

Several hundred dollars to mount it slightly higher on the fence?
