Would like stuff to fill large (inch deep) holes and would like it perfectly clear. It's fine if I have to lay it in several layers...

After specific recommendations of what sort and where it might be available at a reasonable cost in NZ for 5-8 litres...

I used to use Norski Clear to make gear shift knobs when I was much younger

Not sure about UV stable though. Most epoxy yellows over time with exposure to UV.

Check out West Systems Epoxy line.

There is a clear hardener with UV inhibitors, but recommends a UV varnish for longer UV stability.

Adhesive Technologies are the local NZ Distributor, but products can be obtained NZ wide.

@MikeAqua - thanks for the Norski heads up - looks like they quite a variety of specialist epoxies and finishes. Will be checking them out for future uses.
