I have some raised beds that are bordered by bricks, and with brickwork for paths. So I couldn’t without destroying a lot of courtyards, push irrigation underneath.

But I have worked out I could use under the house.

I wouldn’t trust irrigation pipe as far as I could throw it, but is this stuff, suitable for cold pressure pipes?

I’d get a plumber to take a feed from before our water filter, then run under the house with one t junction to feed two beds.

I have some other beds, one in the lawn....unsure if I could trench under that. And two more with courtyards but no under house access. I’d rather not go aerial, or surface mount.

Thoughts?

Get a water cannon irrigator.... you will only need one mounted on pole at the corner of the section.... should be enough :-)

Polybute pipe is not suitable for underground use. Don't trust any instructions that say that you can bury it.

Use MDPE pipe instead (blue watermain pipe) and sleeve it with PVC waste pipe.

Cool. So what’s that for? As it says hot or cold water delivery. Is that for transporting hot or cold water to the various taps around the house ?

Would this be suitable if running underneath the house but not underground?

I think I know the blue piping you’re mentioning from when the galvanised pipes under the house were replaced.

What is I called/brand so I can see prices from the various hardware shops?

If you have a farming supply store or specialist irrigation store nearby you can get the irrigation pipe they use on farms. It is about 19mm inner diameter and the walls are very thick. It can be buried or run above ground. You won't need to sleeve it because it is very tough.

Standard black alkathene is fine. Just buy heaps of 90* adapters for running around corners and make sure its the HANSEN brand.

^Ran kilomteres of the crap around 5000 Avocado trees and 2 Ha of green houses.

the local community garden runs that black stuff strapped to fences, hung on poles and calbe tied across cables run between poles, house, fences etc. works well. Use solar resistant cable ties.
