Hi Team

After a little advise regarding where to locate the attached bulbs.  I have tracked down similar on RS but they don't have the long contact wires per the original.

they're 12V 3 W incandesciant

Cheers

Try "The Lightbulb Man" website, they usually can get strange bulbs. You proably need oven-rated versions.

I wonder if the standard 12v 3w "instrument lights" (available from auto shops) would do the trick.  That's actually what they look like too.

Although they're designed to plug in to a socket, the pigtail wires are simply folded around the glass and they can be straightened out.  A bit hard to tell though whether they'd be long enough -  perhaps not.

Jaycar also sell various small light bulbs. Some that come with pigtails pre attached.

Cheers all, i looked at Ali after RS.  Seems LED is the go now...can likely extend to make something work.

Also considered automotive, have bought one and can unwind the pigtail some....but not all the way.

Will have a bit of a look and come up with something suitable from the above.
