I have two Merlin garage door openers and want a keyring remote that will open both
Remote compatibility table on internet looks like it could be incorrect
Opener Models are (old) 4000 and 2006 430R

The 430R came with a green M832 remote and we bought a M842 keyring remote too

Problem is one button on the M842 keyring failed and then 2 years later the other button failed, so I don't want to buy another the same.

It was a nice surprise that both remotes worked with the old 4000 opener and I was hoping someone would know if other (reliable) keyring remotes would work with both too?

I put a Jaycar 4-channel wireless remote control relay on my two garage door openers to replace the crappy old remotes.

These were wired in parallel with the push buttons. I used a 12v dc power supply off an old router for the power supply. Its been installed for almost 3 years and no issues.
I understand similar kits can be bought off aliexpress for a lot less than Jaycar.

It appears you have a door that uses rolling codes and a door that uses fixed codes. In which case you probably won't find a remote to do both doors.

The remote relay kit suggested doesn't sound like a terrible idea.

Not sure I have the know-how for the remote relay kit unfortunately

Note that both the M832 and M842 two button remotes open both doors (well the M842 did until its buttons stopped working) but that was set up by a Merlin installer

I'm not familiar with the 842 remote but I have replaced the button switches on 832s. They are easy to find.

I don't see the problem there seem to be lots of remotes advertised as capable of replacing both 832 and 842.

Yeah could go with a 3rd party remote if they will be compatible with both doors. Any recommendations for make/model?
