Anyone got any recommendations for house carpet sourcing in Auckland area.

Looking to carpet our house, its all wooden floors, amazing timber but dam its cold on the floor. Looks like about $130 per lineal meter (at either 3.66m or 4m wide) is the going rate for ok stuff. Probably need abut 20-30m's im guessing.

Install will be easy as the surface is already to go.

I did think that maybe i just put better underfloor insulation in, the stuff there is rubbish... but carpet seems to put a good R value into the floor and comfort too.

Also used Ian Hunt Flooring. We got a pretty decent deal and their installation and post sales service has been very good. We are super happy with the carpet we bought and the extra underlay we went with. Some of the best money we have spent on our home.

I am looking at the Cav bren wool loo ppile type carpets myself. Had good experiences with durability with them. Can't stand the nylon ones that shade, they remind me of that 80's velour fabric.

is that the stuff that when you vacuum it you can see where the vacuum has been?

We are down south, just getting a bunch of people to come in and quote. People tell me 11mm underlay is pretty good

all i would say is don't go to carpet courts...

the sales is like omg there's the biggest half year sale this weekend and you'll save sooo much.

i went to ian hunts and its normal price = carpet courts' super sale price; with better quality carpet too....

Craig at needcarpet.co.nz. Personally I wouldn't use anyone else.
