Hi everyone.

Just following on from my search for parts, next on my list is a cheap arduino with ethernet.

I have used the NodeMCU from ali express for a while now, and for $5 with wifi it does what I need.
But im looking for something a little more reliable (Ethernet)

The problem is, I can't find anything for anywhere close to the price.
Jaycar for example have a board and ethernet shield, but its about $80 total.

I was hoping for something closer to the $5 for the nodemcu, just with ethernet rather than wifi.
As I would be using quite a few for various projects, and at <$50 a piece is just not realistic.

$20 inc shipping isnt a bad deal
So will give it a go and see how it turns out

What is your use for it? That looks a lot like a cheap Raspberry Pi, if your goal is to control i/o then an Arduino with an ethernet shield may be more suitable.

It just needs to take a sensor input and turn on some leds, then trigger a few things over the network.
I would go with Arduino with ethernet, but as I said in the original post. I cant find one for less than $60 NZ
Hence the $20 for the Linux system

The library for the Ethernet shields are noway near as well developed as the wifi ones on the ESP.

Also the AVR arduinos have noway near enough ram to do much useful with Ethernet.

That board is a full linux machine so you would probably run into issues getting access to the GPIOs on it since most of the work seems to be done for the Pi from python etc.

Possibly blocked keywords due to trademarks. Try searching for nintendo on there and same happens.

Ive been finding bang good and gear best better recently with all the filtering and annoying multiple price option BS that sellers on aliexpress get away with.

All im needing for network traffic is a http request to a web server (Which I do currently though the nodemcu)
dont think it needs much resources to send a request? (Doesn't even need a reply back)
