Needing a flat top circular saw blade for my table saw: 254mm, 30mm arbor, pref 40 teeth but 24 will do.

In days of old ripping blades were often flat cut but nowadays all seem to be ABT or compound.

Anyone know of any quality blades and where to get them that are FTG?

Amazon. Stumpy Nubs does blade reviews and usually has some good links to check out. He calls it a joinery blade iirc.

The blades in a dado stack are usually flat topped if you wanted to invest in one of those. Amazon again would be a starting point.

As an aside, the imperial blade metric arbor thing drives me nuts for some reason. Seems so counter-intuitive (and bushings are hard to come by). My mitre saw has the same 10 inch 30 mm sizing. I ended up getting some cheap blades off trademe for that since I couldn't find anything local.

Yea, stumpynubs recommends the Forrest. Great joinery blade - would love one. I wrote to them; no NZ distributor, and if I buy from them and ship it adds up to well over $300NZD. Ouch.

Reaching out to Linbide & Carbatec but hopeful someone knows of square tooth blades more readily available.

Have you seen if its on amazon with shipping to NZ? I got a pile of 10 or 12 diablo blades a while back on the first free shipping deal they had which was about the cost of 2 blades locally at the green shed. Even without shipping being free its massivly cheaper than local for what looks to be the same stuff.

You should try finding 13/8" arbor blades. I inherited an old B&D circ saw from Dad. It never bothered him as he bought whatever was cheap/available at the time and a toolmaker friend of his bored the hole to suit.

Unfortunately Amazon says "item does not ship to NZ" which was why I had reached out to Forrest direct. but yes, it's cheaper through them; if only it would ship here.

What about YouShop?

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

Correction to my previous - stumpy recommends the Ridge Carbide TS2000 box joint blade, not the Forrest (recommended elsewhere). As with the Forrest, no Amazon shipping to NZ. Have contacted them direct and they'll ship via ground. Still pretty pricey but arent any similar on the market here.
