Hi everyone,

I bought a house with an HRV installed, probably the newest version; it has a colour touch screen, and one day the screen went blank and started beeping. It beeps 5 time then a short pause then repeat, very annoying. The fan has also stopped.

I took the touch screen panel off the wall and unplugged the RJ11 at the back and got it to stop. When I plug it back in the screen will flash white a few times, then go blank and then the beeping will start again.

I tried contacting HRV but they want to sell me a filter and service for $230 before they tell me where the problem lies and won't give me a price for the controller replacement. Seeing how expensive HRV services are I doubt the controller will be cheap.

Has anyone experienced this before? Is the fault at the touch screen panel or the unit in the roof? And how much, in your experience did the replacement parts cost?

If it is over $400 I'll consider buying a good fan and replace the HRV fan and controller.
