Just brought a new house, and there’s no alarm fitted.

While in an ideal world, I’d do it myself, time constraints and lack of some of the tools to run cables say I’ll have to outsource. Keen on one of the AAP systems with their relatively inexpensive IP interfaces...

Does anyone have a recommendation for a installer?

Have you considered a modern wireless alarm? I assume they're reliable and secure enough, and you should be able to fit it yourself quickly. The old school Bosch alarm that I had installed is dumb comma no smart features at all, difficult to integrate with, but reliable.

With the AAP system the IP control - their app is a bit basic and not really "designed".

But you can, with some work, interface over your choice e.g. MQTT. Although that's not out of the box and if you don't have any time its definately not plug and play. Their App is though, and if you only want basic control and are happy trusting a third party with that kind of network access then it does work!
