Looks like Wemo has fully gone now.

Anyone found an alternative product that works with the Wemo app?

Or know where to get some switches cheaply etc?

Thanks

Wait, what happened to WeMo? I must've missed something.

I've got a few Orvibo switches and they work well. Cloud support is pretty average but they have good support with home automation software.

I had the same problem about a year ago finding wemo's, now using the TP-Link HS110 works great and has power monitoring built in.

I swapped to TP-Link as well. WEMO is still going strong but has silently exited the New Zealand market. TP-Link's are great. I use home assistant so don't use the app for either the WEMO or TP-Link.

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.

What’s home assistant?

And can that control a mix, if I keep the wemo and buy some of these TP link jobbies instead?

Thanks.

Anyone have any old wemos they no longer require?

Home Assistant is python based software that you run on a Raspberry Pi that aggregates all your smart home devices and allows control from anywhere.

It is straightforward to install but does have a "steep" learning curve to get running smoothly. If you have an old Raspberry Pi sitting around it is cool to play around with but be prepared to spend some time on it.

Where are you @Jaxson? I have three here you could buy if you like.

Thanks @hairy1 but that’s not me at this point in time. Appreciate the info though.

I’m in Palmerston North, in the great state of Manawatu.

I have a few that I am not using right now, because as soon as I connect my alexa to my wemo account, all my old lights from the gateway that I got rid of then show as offline lights so I cant use those names on other things.

Also got at least one, possibly 2 dead ones incase someone wants to open up and see if its just a bad capacitor or something.

I will count up how many I have, Also got several of the motion sensors that were in that cheap bundle deal that was around 2-3 years back which are pretty inconsiderate design so I dont use them.
