Hi guys putting in a new kitchen, I want somewhere to place the sonos one but not on the bench so was thinking about a couple of floating shelves with a power point resessed into the wall to power the speaker. The shelves that I have seen at bunnings, mitre ten don't look that great I am after simple straight line design with white gloss to match the kitchen cabinets. Does any one have any recommendations on decent shelves or other ideas of where to store the sonos?. Where do people keep their speakers in the kitchen?

In ceiling speakers. Better sound spread.

Kitchen joinery should be able to supply a nice hard wood floating shelve or any bespoke wood working joinery in your area?

Do whatever you want to do man.

I put my LG ones up on some normal shelves but that wall came out when I had the chinmey removed and I havent bothered to put them back up. I just got some black L brackets and some pieces of black textured MDF shelving from bunnings.

I like the idea of ceiling was just going to put a Single Sonos , might try local joiner most places still shut in upper Hutt for holidays , we just went with a mitre ten designer range kitchen but they haven't provided any options when I asked

It would sit above a 600 kitchen draw joining dinning room so want it to look like it matches , bunnings did have a white gloss but none in stock. I brought a couple of floating shelves for the kids rooms the finish was pretty rough that was Mat white hopefully the gloss one is a better finsh

Worst case is buy what you want in whatever colour is available, then add $10 for a spray can of white gloss paint. Easier to adapt the colour than the shelf style.

We are looking for something similar. Looks like Bunnings has a lot of components and shelves? Maybe not in gloss white but looks like they sell the brackets separate.

I had a look today unfortunately their stock was very low from over the holidays, I was thinking about making some but wasn't sure where to buy the floating shelves brackets

My brother put up a longer version of one of these recently - beautiful IMO. The 38mm depth looks way better than the 16mm Melamine offerings.

If the 250x250 in the link is too long or wide for what you want for the Play One, you should be able to cut the shelf to what you want (and put some gloss white on the cut end if necessary) and cut the aluminium extrusion support bracket down to length.

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

If you are repainting laminate I would prime first with a smooth surface primer.

Then spray topcoats of chosen colour.

Just plain MDF if your painting it. Still need to use a primer though.
