Are the lawns all nice and square/rectangular, or are there fiddly bits?

I was golng to get a Husky (Husqvarna), specs you want except no catcher. I bought a Masport President AL6000, specs you want except no self propelled. 198cc

Self propelled uses hp, and another thing to go wrong, some need regular calibration. Plus better exercise on push. My lawns include a garden/orchard of a few fruit trees so messy to disable/enable the self propell all the time, same with the two side strips, but just my opinion.

I much every mow, if I want clippings for compost or vege garden mulch I will use the catcher

I was going to look at the commercial version at one stage, however, now I have downsized to a place with a smaller lawn. Interested to see what one ends up with.

Yes they are very stop and start due to orchard as it trees. I think you may have convinced me to look at the president. I will definitely catcher most time, but want multch when I get behind in winter. About 3/4 flat acre.

Would be good if the mower I buy will have good dust / grass catcher, sick of reading dust and grass at the moment with the Victa.

I don't want to persuade you to buy my mower, because I have one.

The catcher on mine is hard plastic and fabric. Its quite large. No dust. The mower has an air gap around the base of the engine, hardly anything finds its way out there, I assume thats to set air pressure for the grass that is cut to rise, then fall, to be cut again. I feel that if you buy any top end mower it will be designed with finesse and detail, rather than being a motor on a piece of steel. My Mitre 10 Cobra didn't catch well, didnt chute well.  A higher end mower just seems to be more than that, well designed. I spent ages looking at features. Im happy with it.

Yeah, it's just that I want the exercise, :-) and we have a local sthil shop which has that mower. I was looking at it. Self propelled seems like it would take to much power from the cutting, I need high power to keep on top of kikuju grass.

Yep, here is the featureset

http://www.masport.co.nz/outdoor-garden-products/lawnmowers/president/president-6000-al-s21-3-n1-ic

And a review that happened to be on the same search page

https://www.productreview.com.au/listings/masport-president-6000al-spv-combo-ic

Last week I bought an extra blade set, the complete disk assembly. $103 incl courier as they got one in. Disk and 4 blades, the idea is when I sharpen the blades I whip off the disk, put the new one on and sharpen when it suits. Ill be using a file and not the grinder.

My local lawn mower shop is getting one in for me to look at, just a question about the power of the engine, they advertise 750cc and yours is higher power, have they changed the engine?

750cc? I want one of those, my motorbike is 656cc and 92 bhp!

Mine is 190cc, I do recall seeing them mentioned as less, not sure why. My old mower, Mitre10 Vinaro was 140cc.
