So I have a Fridge in the kitchen that is around 10 years old - Still works fine.
The front of it gets a bit of sun early in the day and (I guess) as a result, the lacquer that they coated the Stainless Steel with has got worn and patchy and some of it has gone quite cloudy looking.
I got a little of my wifes nail polish remover (Acetone) and it will very slowly remove the crappy old lacquer and the stainless underneath is fine.
This will be very very slow - I need something a little stronger I think.
I figure the lacquer was originally to reduce fingermarks and shine but I just want it gone - I will wipe it with a stainless steel cleaner/oil once the old lacquer is gone.
Has anyone removed this sort of coating before?
What did you use and where did you buy it from? I see a few solvents on Bunnings website.
Anyone done this before.
