Hi.

Got a new AP. The old AP was mounted prior to the projector going up. It's a major to dismount the projector.

WAP weighs 500 grams so I thought Velco with rating of 400g per inch was going to be enough if I used 2 x 3 inch strips but it didn't.

The official bracket would be a doddle to install if I had no space restrictions.

Any ideas how I can mount this?

VHB tape.

It will bring down your ceiling (or at least the paint layer attached to the gib!) when removing the AP though unless you're incredibly careful.

I’m assuming for aesthetics reasons you want to hide the AP behind the projector mount?
Looks like there are already some screw holes in the ceiling.

use the 3m picture mounting stuff, its very strong

Clean the plastic and the ceiling with alcohol before putting the adheisive on. Use the 3m picture hanging ones that look like velcro but better. I have that holding up rasberry pi cases and some older network switches and its been there for ages.

i have the white stuff and its stuck onto raised pattern wallpaper and its held A2 sizes photo frames fine with 2x picture strips.

it holds really well. the AP should be fine at 500 grams with 4 of them

We have some of these at home. Do you use them on the bracket and then attach the AP to the bracket, or do you attach direct to the AP? The issue I had with the Velcro was that the parts I could attach the velcro to were slightly recessed which made it difficult to get a good quality seal on the surface of the ceiling.

We have some of the larger strips, if I recall I did not use the bracket.

It is really strong stuff, if you use the bracket you might be able to hide the removal tags.
