I got myself these Ikea magnetic knife racks (https://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/20202083/) that i want to put on a tile wall in the kitchen. I don't want to drill (i'm afraid i might crack the tiles) so i was advised to use silicone instead.

Is that a viable option? If so, what sort of silicone do i need? Theres so many types i can see on Bunnings website. Would something like this one be sufficient?

I have a similar knife rack and mounted it to tiles using 3M Mounting tape. It's been up for almost 2 years without any signs of losing strength.

If you're worried about cracking the tiles, which shouldn't be the case if you do it right, tape up the tiles and use the correct type of drill, you can drill into the grout, which is fairly easy and can be patched up with more grout if you ever need to remove it.

That stuff is very hard to get off, but it does come off cleanly. Highly recommended for a job like this.

Defintely go with the mounting tape. It hold securely and still be easy to clean up when you remove the racks.

Ive found the "outdoor" 3m tape to be the best of the lot for holding up, the indoor one seems to have the thick part of it deteriorate over time.

+1 for the 3M 'outdoor' black mounting tape.

Once its there....its there.
