Geekzone yellow pages....

Can anyone recommend a store in Wellington, Lower Hutt, or Porirua with a large selection of cupboard handles? Needs to be open Saturday.

I need to replace some cupboard handles as the metal has bubbled off over the years. I can Google for handle suppliers but it's difficult to tell with an online search which ones are large with a good level of stock in store to look at. I don't mind waiting for them to arrive, but seeing them would be useful. I bought a couple online and the color looked quite different in person.

  • Hardware stores have too small a range, we've tried them.
  • Sopersmac on Old Hutt Rd is ok, but small range
  • Knobs and Knockers on Thorndon Quay - looks like a decent size from the photos
  • Henry & Kemp - do they have decent stock?
  • Handles knockers and knobs, Petone

Google tells me it's called "handles knockers and knobs". I've been in there quite a few years ago. Decent range?

If you're trying to match existing handles have you tried an image search to see if you can identify the maker? Try taking a typical product picture to submit.

I've tried that. The handle is specific to a single bathroom manufacturer who can't supply them, but it's 7-8 years old and I don't know how long it's reasonable to expect spare parts for. I found one similar online but the color was quite different. Handles don't tend to be that expensive, so we'll replace them and get a couple of spares.

Thanks for the offer, but don't worry about it. We can pop in there for a look.

If you are replacing all the knobs maybe something in Sylvan's end of line specials would work.

https://www.sylvan.co.nz/shop/Specials.html

Either that or they supply the original to retailers and you haven't found the finish. Sometimes retailers don't carry all the choices.

Thanks, but that's an Auckland store and I do want to see them in person. We found some that looked very similar online but were quite different in person.

I've asked quite a few stores if they can get them, but none can unfortunately.
