Well maybe a slight exageration :)

But I'm proud of myself for fixing the Nespresso machine (only eletrocuted myself the once in the process!), it was dispensing coffee all over the insides of itself, and I diagnosed it, got the part and fixed .. yay me!

Batman:

No, it's his superhero alter ego.

It can't be. He didn't mention any radioactive spider inside the machine...

Well there were spiders in it ... all paralyzed and stored by a Mason Wasp!

I wasn’t going to say this but ....

A couple of months ago I noticed a faint strange smell in one part of our kitchen. A few days later I was awake in the night and noticed a different and stronger very odd smell up in our bedroom. Got up, got outa bed, dragged a comb across my head. Went downstairs to the kitchen and could smell it a little stronger there. Couldn’t work it out, went back to bed.

In the morning, noticed that some appliances in the kitchen weren’t working. Checked fuse box and found one breaker had tripped. Reset it and everything ok.

Except - the Nespresso machine.

After exploring the kitchen I found that someone had let the milk frother overflow - then wiped up all the spilt milk around the machine - but not under the machine.

The sour milk had turned into maggots that climbed up into the machine and shorted out the electrics and tripped the breaker. The second smell I had detected the previous night was fried maggots. Disfrikkingusting.

The machine was clearly stuffed - had to throw it out and buy a new one.

Yuk.

This is correct. There’s no DIY stuff I enjoy more than fixing things that might otherwise be regarded as past it. Extremely satisfying.
