Was going around the house with a builder to work details for some renovation job inside and under the floors, and noticed the insulation sleeve around the pipe going from the compressor to the heat pump head unit was broken - about three centimetres of pipe exposed. This seems to be because of the tie used to fix things together.

Should I worry and get this fixed ASAP, would this be a warranty job, or any other opinions?

Small gaps in insulation can make a difference to efficiency. I'd ask the installer to come back and fix under warranty. It's probably not a big job.
