Is it okay to use a 10 microfarad capacitor in lieu of an 8 microfarad capacitor on a electric motor?
What is the risk of it damaging the motor?

should be fine, if its a starting cap it will give it 2uf more oomph

Have used and done in the past when unable to get an exact match, some newer start caps vary in capacitance like a 30-36uf

Thanks, the motor started fine with the 10uf capacitor.
