Need to redo the sides of my arcade cabinet as theyre badly scuffed etc, and looking online it appears just using paint stripper will do the job to remove existing paint.

Is there a particular type I need to be looking at, or will any do the trick ?

If it's MDF (which is likely), paint stripper will make a mess of it. You will be better off taking if any flaking paint with a linbide scraper, and levelling out dings or paint holes with something like rapid filler. Then a coat of primer undercoat, then two top coats of acrylic enamel.
