Hello all. Does anyone have a recommendation for ceiling fan that can be installed outdoors under a covered alfresco? The height from floor to ceiling is just over 2.7m and the covered alfresco part is wide and long so slim to no chance of rain showers hitting the fan but it would be nice to get an outdoor rated one. It does not have to have any smarts like voice control built in but it needs to be quiet. It is for a new house build so we can install a metal one as earth wiring has been run where the switch and rotary switch inside of the house needs to be.

They've got quite a number of outdoor-rated fans and some that are wet-rated too (although you reckon you don't need the latter).

We've put two of them (indoor models) in our house - delighted with them.

(Looks like the nearest distributor is in Melbourne: https://www.prestigefans.com.au/)

Thanks @kiwigander

How did you end up sourcing your Hunter fans in NZ or did you self import from Australia or USA?

The first one was sitting in a shop in Nelson - can't remember which. It appeared to have been ordered in for someone who then didn't follow through with the purchase.

The second one, we ordered from Australia. No great drama involved.

Highly recommend Hunter Pacific fans. We bough a Kenetic 52" Grey with halogen light & remote in 2008 when we lived in Sydney. On return home to NZ we dismantled it and re-installed it in our bedroom here. Apart from cleaning the remotes contacts twice, after 12 years this fan keeps on going on and is as silent as a church mouse.

The latest models now even have WiFi and can be incorporated into Google Home, Alexa and phone app, don't know about Apple Home.

Anyway, again, Highly recommend Hunter Pacific fans 😃

Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.

Thanks @kiwigander and @FineWine. We ordered a Hunter Pacific Typhoon in 52" from below Australian store that was the only one I could find that shipped to NZ. NZ$450 incl shipping. Looks good and it's 316 Stainless Steel so should hold up well with moisture or any heavy showers but it's under a good cover anyway.
