My small back yard was absolutely weed ridden so I've nuked it and I'm in the process of raking out all the dead, deeply rooted weeds and discovering all kinds of detritus in the dirt. Lots of stones, lumps of concrete, bits of metal, plastic, glass, more stones, large root systems, stones etc.

Anyway, this is one of the things I uncovered and I'm just curious as to what it is. Some kind of gardening or building aid I guess?

Bottom of some sort of stake that you push into the ground? Maybe an umbrella or irrigation system or something like that?

Looks like the bottom of a plastic solar powered garden light, although its hard to see exactly if the top of it is designed to socket into a piece of pipe.

Ooh, a solar light! Yes, I hadn't thought of that but I think I have seen some pictures of the back yard when it had a row of solar lights there. Nice to know that some dickhead just yanked the light out (or snapped it out) and left the plastic stake behind in the ground 😡

If I were you I’d contact WETA and find out if they’ve had anything go missing lately.
