I have had a camera mounted outside for a long time and recently decided to get it going with the new Synology Surveillance Station included in SynOS7

It's mounted on the overhang of our roof (real term escapes me) and the entire picture seems like it's rotated 90 degrees the wrong way. I can't see anyway to get the live play back the right way up.  Also, I thought it was colour, but it's only displaying in B&W

The model is IPC-HDBW2421R-ZS/VFS

I thought I'd also fimwware update it, but there are two on offer;

DH_IPC-HX1X2X-Themis_EngSpn_N_Market_V2.620.0000004.0.R.191130

DH_IPC-HX1X2X-Themis_Eng_P_Market_V2.620.0000004.0.R.191130

Lastly, is it usual to set up to record for 1 minute or something from motion detection to save space?

Thanks for any tips or tricks.

Soffit :P

If it's anything like the other backdoor manufacturers. Some come with international (english) firmware, and then chinese. And often the backdoor ones are chinese, hacked up to be english and can brick if you use the factory ones.

User be warned if it was an import model :)

You should be able to remote config it via browser/IP or using a onvif app to do rotation/adjustments

You'll be able to rotate the picture ones you are in to the admin interface.
Can you bring up the web admin interface? From there you should be able to see the exact version of installed firmware as well.

Device Type IPC-HDBW2421R-ZS
Software Version 2.600.0005.0.R, Build Date: 2016-12-19
WEB Version 3.2.1.407703

I got it from a NZ Distributor (CDL) a few years ago.

I guess its a case of working out what region falls under, P or N

Difference in firmware is NTSC vs PAL since this camera comes in NTSC and PAL versions. Once would think you have the PAL version so -

My first ever AM radio network connection was with a 1MHz AM crystal(OA91) radio receiver.

Thanks. Mine has 0 and 180? I think the specs above indicate I should be able to rotate it 0-355 degrees, but wondering why I can't from either the camera Web interface or Synology Station either....
