Sold the JD Walk Behind that I had. Brilliant pro level mower, but way to big for this yard, plus to convert to a mulcher needs the plug and new blade imported, about $250 all up. So looking for a lightweight mower that mulches well the two I am looking at; The Morrison Storm 400, 16.5", 140cc, 20kg Mulch twin blade $329 https://www.bunnings.co.nz/morrison-140cc-16-5-4-stroke-storm-400-mower_p0217072 It seems to be insanely well valued, it is narrow, but for a 70sqm lawn that is very tight to get in and out of makes a small cut quite helpful. Victa bronco quad blade system, 150cc, 19", 28kg, quad blade mulch $600-700 https://www.bunnings.com.au/victa-power-mulcher-18-mulch-or-catch-petrol-lawn-mower_p0080735 I like both, but reality is the smaller mower just happens to be half the price. I was advise twin blade was the way to go as well, but just checking if anybody has any knowledge on this. Im use to have the single bar on the JD sharpened where these look like bolt on replacements for both.

The Victa has made more effort to be a mulching mower. The blade carrier looks to have sharpened edges to also cut the grass.

2 blades are enough. Many 4 blade mowers end up with only 2 after the originals need replacing. The swinging blades can be sharpened. They are only worn out when the turn up that creates the airflow is worn down by sand and stones.

Somebody else told me twin blade cuts more refined, but I thought 4 thin and sharp blades would be better. But its no biggy.

So for $329 the morrson 140cc model is perfect. Well thats $400 into the Xbox Series X fund ;-p
