Hi all,

I have had trouble with my Bosch Alarm system which has been triggering false alarms for the past few weeks.

Via process of elimination, I think I have narrowed it down to one of the PIR having a malfunction (I swapped the enclose from one PIR to the other and the false alarms started coming from the other  sensor, indicating that the part I swapped was the one with the malfunction.

I now would like to replace that part (Bosch ISC-BPR2-W12) but I am struggling to find a place in NZ (or elsewhere that stocks them or will sell them to me at a reasonable price)

Are these normally only sold to installers?

Cheers

I have purchased Bosch alarm parts from this website before. Good prices compared to locally and direct shipping to NZ

Connect Security in Eden Terrace Auckland are the NZ agents for Bosch.

Im pretty sure they only sell to trade though.

Is there something special about the Bosch alarms that makes them only usable with Bosch PIRs? Of the various alarm replacements/upgrades I've seen, every one has a random mix of old and new sensors and different brands, they're pretty much universal. Unless there's something special about the Bosch setup you should be able to get a generic Optex PIR from your nearest retailer, move the EOL resistor across from the Bosch, and you're done.

They are indeed universal but they are very good detectors, best looking and best detecting, i use them pretty much exclusively even when putting in alarms of other brands.
